Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium Grant was introduced to help schools and local authorities support pupils in the following categories:
- Pupils in year groups Reception to Year 6 recorded as Ever 6 FSM: that is, a child that is/was in school whilst their family were/are in receipt of free school meals due to low income now or in the last 6 years
- Looked-after children (LAC) defined in the Children Act 1989 as one who is in the care of, or provided with accommodation by, an English local authority
- Children who have ceased to be looked after by a local authority in England and Wales because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order
- Pupils in year groups reception to year 11 recorded as Ever 5 Service Child
The overall objective in spending the PPG (Pupil Premium Grant) is to close the attainment and PSE (personal, social, emotional) gap through targeted interventions.
Allocations to schools are based on returns in the Spring Census (January) for the next financial year. The Autumn 2022 census for Keep Hatch recorded 452 pupils on roll, 64 of these eligible within one of the above categories.
